Why Not Have a Perfect Smile?

True story: I was sitting in a Raleigh restaurant grabbing a bite to eat the other day and I noticed there was a long line of people waiting to check out. I couldn’t help but notice that almost everyone in line was wearing stylish clothing – Burberry scarves, Louis Vuitton purses – and their hair and female’s make-up were done quite well.

Being an aesthetic dentist I was also noticing that some had smiles that could certainly use improvement; and it dawned on me… I wondered if these people knew how easy it was improve their smiles.

No, I didn’t run up to them! Ha! But I wish I had had a way to let them know.

It’s not uncommon for my new cosmetic patients to come in and say they would like to “start working” on a healthier, brighter smile and ask if they can veneer or crown one tooth per year in a lighter shade. I always wonder where patients get these ideas from; and I have figured out that it has to be other dentists!

I have no idea why any patient would want teeth that are a different color. I would never recommend that at the benefit of making a sale. My patients health, wellbeing and confidence is what matters most to me and a sectioned approach to a smile makeover is not the best course of action.

Think about it: at one veneer or crown per year, it could take close to 10 years if you did just the upper teeth! Not to mention, how can you be assured of a color or shade match as the years pass.

Part of my job is to educate you on the logistics of improving your smile; and part of my job is to enlighten you as to how easy it can be to improve your smile with my proven systems. Why are you waiting if you can permanently improve your oral health and facial appearance?
